Arts, A/V Technology & Communications

A/V Cluster Logo

The Arts, A/V Technology & Communications Career Clusters focuses on careers in designing, producing, exhibiting, performing, writing, and publishing multimedia content including visual and performing arts and design, journalism, and entertainment services. Careers in the AAVTC Career Cluster require a creative aptitude, a strong background in computer and technology applications, a strong academic foundation, and a proficiency in oral and written communication. Students in the AAVTC cluster have the opportunity to earn industry certifications including Adobe, Apple, and Microsoft.

  • Practicum in Entrepreneurship Career Prep

Design and Multimedia Arts courses offered:

  • Principles of Arts, A/V Technology, and Communications
  • Graphic Design and Illustration I
  • Graphic Design and Illustration II
  • Practicum in Entrepreneurship Career Prep

New Boston High School AAVTC courses prepare students for careers in graphic design, film and video editing, and sound engineering, among others. New Boston High School provides up-to-date technology and resources to enhance AAVTC students’ creative works.  

Ms. Caitlin Cox, our Multimedia Teacher, attended Tarleton State University where she majored in Agricultural Communications. This year is her first year teaching at NBHS. Prior to working in education, Ms. Cox worked as a graphic artist was and a staff member at the university campus ministry.
